About

Meet Kim

It is a privilege to walk alongside people as they navigate grief, loss and life's most challenging seasons.

Welcome. I'm Kim Ellis, founder of Living Well Essentials Grief & Loss Counselling.

For more than a decade, my work has centred on caring for others. In 2014, I established Living Well Essentials, supporting women through aromatherapy and massage with a holistic approach to wellbeing. During those years, I was continually reminded that while physical care can bring comfort, many people carry emotional pain that longs to be acknowledged and understood.

Again and again, I found myself sitting with people who were grieving—not only the death of someone they loved, but also the many losses that life can bring: changes in health, relationships, identity, dreams and future hopes.

Those conversations led me to counselling.

I completed a Bachelor of Counselling and became a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). Today, I specialise in supporting adults experiencing grief, bereavement and life's significant losses.

My Philosophy

I believe every grief story begins with love.

Grief is not something to be fixed or hurried. It is a natural response to loving deeply, and every person's experience is unique.

My role is not to tell you how you should grieve or when you should be "feeling better." Instead, I offer a compassionate, respectful space where you can share your story, honour your loss, and discover your own path forward.

I believe healing does not mean forgetting. It means learning to carry love differently while rebuilding a life that continues to hold meaning and hope.

My Approach

My counselling is:

  • Person-centred
  • Compassionate and collaborative
  • Holistic
  • Attachment-informed
  • Evidence-informed
  • Trauma-aware
  • Grounded in contemporary grief theory

Above all, I believe the counselling relationship itself is one of the most important parts of healing. My hope is that you experience our sessions as a place where you feel safe, heard and accepted.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Counselling
  • Registered Clinical Counsellor – Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA)
  • Professional indemnity and public liability insured
  • Committed to ongoing professional supervision and continuing professional development

Beyond Counselling

Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time in nature, particularly among Australia's beautiful gum trees. Their quiet resilience and ability to regenerate after adversity remind me that while loss changes us, growth remains possible.

The values that guide both my life and my work are compassion, grace, hope, integrity and genuine human connection.

A Personal Welcome

If you are considering counselling, I know you may be feeling uncertain about taking this first step.

Please know there is no expectation for you to have the right words or to tell your whole story in our first session.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

It would be a privilege to walk alongside you with compassion and care.
